Joyful Noise Preschool believes that children are created and valued by God. The teachers will strive to enrich the whole child, mind, body, and soul. We believe that each child should be taught and evaluated on an individual basis and that he/she should be given the opportunities to learn using different manipulatives and hands on activities. Children should be challenged and feel successful so that they can grow socially, intellectually, creatively, and emotionally. Teachers will be sensitive to each child's different learning styles and will teach according to individual needs
Joyful Noise Preschool was established by Mindy Pierson in 2009 and each year it grew a little more. When Mindy's family moved up to the Edmonton region, she knew it was time to find somebody locally to take over the reins of her creation. As a result, Triny Davidson assumed control of Joyful Noise over the summer of 2013. The only change was adding the word "Christian" to the name of the school so that people knew right from the start that this preschool was established and continues to be based on Christian principals.
Triny was certified as a teacher in 1989 in Honduras and shortly thereafter founded a Christian bilingual school in the mountain city of Honduras with the help of a Texan expat. For 17 years, Triny managed the academics of a school that started off in a couple rooms and grew to its own campus on the edge of town with 20 teachers and over 250 students ranging from pre-school through high school. During that time, she helped out at a school for village kids and then later taught English at night at a secondary school for students that had to work during the day and study at night. In 2004 she married a Canadian expat and six years later their little family moved to Cochrane. First her little boy went through Joyful Noise and 2 years later her little girl followed suit. After a three-year hiatus from education, Triny is excited by the opportunity to be back in her passion of developing little people into bright minds. Triny obtained her Level 3 Certification (now known as Child Development Supervisor), the highest level of certification for childcare workers issued by Alberta Human Services.
Rachel Braun is the lead teacher with Joyful Noise. Rachel has been active on the parent council with one of Cochrane's schools and brings her experience from working in Calgary pre-schools along with fantastic energy to Joyful Noise. Like Triny, Rachel is the mother of two children and knows first-hand the grind parents go through to raise up happy well adjusted young members of society. Rachel is certified in Early Childhood Education.
